SCOTTSDALE FITNESS EXPERT CHALLENGES DR. PHIL
TO FOLLOW HIS OWN ADVICE

Scottsdale, Ariz., October 13, 2003 — Professional therapist and TV personality Dr. Phil McGraw recently published a new book, The Ultimate Weight Solution.  Scottsdale professional trainer and nutrition expert, Scott White, has challenged Dr. Phil to live his own credo by allowing White to help him get into the best shape of his life.

Often maligned by Late Show host David Letterman for his burly size, Dr. Phil recently appeared on Letterman’s show to promote the book.  He countered one of Letterman’s verbal jabs by standing up and removing his suit jacket.  In his communication to Dr. Phil, White asserts, “I will commit my time to work with you for 2-3 months to help you continue you along your path to excellence.  If you're up to the challenge and willing to make the same level of commitment you ask of your readers and viewers, I promise to help you develop a tight, firm body that will silence David Letterman once and for all.”

White has a degree in kinesiology from Arizona State University and is a certified nutritionist.  He works out of his private fitness studio in Scottsdale.  White’s clients have included:

§         Annet Davis and Jenny Jordan from the Olympic Beach Volleyball team and other professional volleyball players;

§         Lucia Rijker, women's boxing champion;

§         Freddie Mitchell, Philadelphia Eagles and UCLA football player;

§         Many other professional athletes, actors, directors and producers.

Asked why he made the decision to challenge Dr. Phil, White responded: “I think Dr. Phil has provided some valuable insight and guidance in his book, but I think he could take it one step further by being able to display his own ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos.  If he were in the best shape of his life, it would demonstrate to his loyal viewers and readers that he really means business, and he means what he says.”
