With children and a busy work schedule it may seem easy to hand them lunch $ or give them a high in sodium and fat prepackaged meal. Especially for a growing child it is so important that they have a nutritious meal to keep their energy levels and mind going all day. A great idea for lunches is to have your child pack their lunch with you this way they are learning about nutrition while also making sure they will eat the food and have no surprises. Kids LOVE to help!  Talk about different food groups as you pack it together so your child will continue to use this information when they make their own lunches. Give them options such as apple or banana…carrots or celery. Make this a bonding activity and ensure that your child is getting a well balanced lunch every day!
