Preparation

Meh, while I post that abusive letter and graphic photo to the BBC Weather Center here’s a quick 5 minute autumnal pudding for ya and it just…it just tastes so good.

Turn on your grill to a medium high temp first. While that’s warming up cut a deep incision into the top of almost each fig – with one or two of the other figs slice them in half and stick one star of anise in each one.

Don’t worry if you’re like me and can’t stand the smell/taste of them, I might actually vomit if I tasted one uncooked

. Open them up like flowers then add a small knob of butter, sprinkle with cinnamon (and honey…I won’t tell anyone, honest) and flaked almonds and walnuts.

Stick them under the grill and serve with yoghurt or crème fraiche . Don’t eat the skin of the figs by the way!
