The basics to becoming a personal trainer:  You want to make sure and get a good certification.  I would recommend taking a few certification courses to get started.

There are many routes you can take to getting certified as a Personal Trainer and getting educated in the field, you can get your degree in at a university, you can go to personal training school or you can take the quick route and follow my guidelines that will teach you more than you ever need to know and not have to waste countless hours on attending school or taking certifications that don’t help you out much.  You can check out my credentials by clicking here:

Recommended Personal Training Certifications:

Basic Certifications to get started:

ISSA A Personal Training Certifications

ISSA, is a Certifying agency in personal training and other training programs they offer many certifications and material for becoming a personal trainer. One of the best beginning personal training certifications I also recommend the Sports Performance Nutritional Certification.

NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine)

NASM is a highly accredited exercise education facility offering certifications and resources for top professionals in Exercise.  NASM offers the only Masters programs through an accredited University.

These two certifications are one of the best to get started for beginning in the personal training business. You can invest time and money going to a school, but I would recommend getting certified right away and start training people, you will learn far more doing than sitting in a classroom.  Once you learned the basics form these personal training courses than there are more advanced course work that you can do later on.

Advanced Personal Training courses recommended for becoming one of the best personal trainers and really setting yourself above the average personal trainers

Advanced Personal Trainer Courses:

Chek Institute, A Corrective High Performance Exercise Kinesiologist program

Paul Chek has my respect among exercise professionals for education, training programs, books, and resources.  Paul Chek is one of the most knowledgeable professionals in the personal training, health, fitness, nutrition industry.  Go see his site, if you want the best in exercise education.

Other Personal Trainers certifications are ok, but I recommend the ones above the most here is the list of other personal certifications.  You can get certified but you most likely won’t learn what you need to know.  Most of these personal trainer certifications are outdated and not very practical.  Though feel free to check them out.  I have already giving you my recommendations, but feel free to check out other certifications for yourself.  Click Here for other training certifications.

You want to be the best in personal training and you don’t want to spend hours going to school or investing in certification and courses that don’t teach you very much about health, fitness, and the personal training business well I have compiled what you need to know, so you don’t waste time going to countess personal training courses that don’t teach you what you need to know.  I have already spent my time and money on most of these personal training programs, course and certifications so take my advice and learn from the best and don’t waste time bogus sub par programs, books, and videos.
