Review of the Health Club at Gainey Village

Gainey is a top notch health club from the basketball all the Racquetball courts and the beautiful outdoor pool.  Gainey’s Cardio equipment cycling, and aerobics classes are great and high energy.  Gainey has a ton of great equipment to do your cardio on from stair steppers, stair mills, ellipticals, bikes that you can watch TV on and other great cardio equipment.  Where Gainey lacks is it’s free weight area very small though extremely clean they host two squat racks and one smith machine.  Gainey is more of a full service health club there free weight area may not be the biggest though the equipment is some of the best.  Gainey has very nice Dumbbells that go up to 115 lbs or so, the equipment is great though the free weight area is small in size of area.  Though most gyms free weight area are fairly small in size  The indoor track is great for running off some calories and they have plenty of extras from plyo boxes, punching bags, and a good amount of high quality weight machines for training.  Gainey equipment is top of the line from there Swiss balls to there fitness equipment.  Gainey is a great health club and high end gym with all the amenities that you could ever want.    

Gainey’s personal trainers Staff all have degree’s and our contracted through Gainey but from my professional experience they may be a lot smarter and better at training than your Average Personal Trainer at most gyms though they still could brush up on there skills, many of there training staff is lacking in proper biomechanical function, Proper program design, and education in the field of weight loss and diet.  They may be one of your best choices in hiring a trainer though a health club, but if you really want expertise in the best results I would seek elsewhere to work with the best and to get the fastest results.

Adult Basketball
Our adult basketball program is available to all Gainey Village members. Leagues are offered quarterly throughout the course of the year.  5-on-5 leagues are on Thursday evenings and 3-on-3 leagues are on Wednesday evenings.  Open pick up games are on Monday and Tuesday evenings from
5:00-7:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 3:00-6:00 p.m.  Women are encouraged to participate in all program.  For information on upcoming leagues

Junior Basketball
Our Junior Basketball program is available to all Gainey Village members between the ages of 5 and 12. Leagues are offered quarterly throughout the course of the year. Practices are on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday from
4:00-5:00 p.m. and games are held on Saturday at Noon, 1:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. Leagues are open to both boys and girls. Junior cheerleading is available for girls ages 5-10.  For more information on junior programs,

The Village offers fitness programs for all levels. From group fitness to personal training, the beginner to the elite athlete will achieve their goals with our professionally trained staff and state of the art equipment. We have two international squash courts with leagues held quaterly.  In addition, squash challenge court is twice a week, Tuesdays from
5:00-7:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:30-11:30 a.m.  All levels are welcome, just show up by the courts.  Lessons are available upon request.  

Our racquetball program is available to all Gainey Village members. Leagues are offered quarterly throughout the year. There is also a challenge court on Monday nights from 5:30-
7:30 p.m.  Just show up and put your name on the clip board.  All levels are welcome

Our swimming programs are available to all Gainey Village members. Both group and/or private lessons are available year round.  Lessons are offered in the mornings and afternoons.  For adults we offer Master Swim Club for those who want to continue to improve their skills in the water. The Master Swim classes meet 3-4 times a week for training and coaching.  Swimming is a great way to stay in shape.

The outdoor cycling club is open to all Gainey Village members. The club hosts a ride every Thursday.  The group departs the club at
6:30 a.m. during the winter months and 5:30 a.m. during the summer. This weekly ride is geared towards various abilities and levels so everyone is welcome to join as long as you have a road bike. 

Hiking Club
The Hiking Club is open to all Gainey Village members and their friends and is a great way to meet other people and see the many beautiful hikes in our state! Sedona, Prescott, and Payson are just some of the areas the Hiking Club will be venturing to. The hikes will be offered every other month on a Saturday and will range from beginner to advanced levels.

Summer Sports Camps
The Summer Sports Camp is the only program available to both Gainey members as well as non-members. Campers ages 5 – 12 are welcome to participate. Camp will run June 3rd through August 16th. Our 1-week sessions make it convenient for anyone’s busy schedule. Campers will participate in all types of fitness-orientated activities, arts and crafts, sports, excursions and special events. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to bring fitness into your child’s life.

Tot Stop and Kid’s Club
Welcome to the
Gainey Village Health Club and Spa Tot Stop and Kid’s Club. Our services are available to all Gainey Village members. Our youth services department hosts monthly events, seasonal activities, birthday parties and more. We also pride ourselves in providing the highest quality childcare for children ages 2 months to 13 years old. We guarantee a wonderful experience for your child at the Gainey Village. Be sure to stop in and see us!

Tot Stop Hours of Operation:

  • 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday
  • 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday
  • 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

Kid’s Club Hours of Operation:

  • 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday
  • 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday
  • 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday
  • Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Reservations can only be made for up to 3 hours per day.
  • If you are unavailable to keep your reservations for any reason, please call and let us know as soon as possible so that we can accommodate other members.
